Investigations

Investigations let you get insight into the digital experience of employees and look for specific technical metrics. Use the visual editor to investigate using a graphical tool or build powerful queries using the NQL editor.

Investigations

The query engine manages large data sets and controls various mechanisms to protect service resources within the data storage layer. By default, the visual editor limits the maximum number of query results to 10,000 rows on the web page. The export to CSV feature returns up to 1,000,000 rows.

Accessing Investigations

  • Select Investigations from the main menu.

  • In the navigation panel:

    • Click on the New button to create a new investigation.

    • Use the search function to quickly filter the list of investigations.

    • Click on All tab to view all investigations available to you, shared and private.

    • Click on the Share tab to view the investigations you have shared with others.

    • Click on the Private tab to only see your investigations.

Clicking on Investigations in the navigation panel displays shared and private investigations sorted by tags. Refer to the section, Tagging investigations, in the Managing investigations documentation.

Permissions

To enable proper permissions for Investigations:

  • Select Administration from the main menu.

  • Click on Profile from the navigation panel.

  • Click on the New Profile button to create a new profile or edit an existing one by hovering over an existing profile and clicking on the edit icon to change the profile configuration.

  • In the Permissions section, scroll down to the Investigations section to enable appropriate permissions for the profile.
