Device identification

Nexthink is designed to accurately identify various devices transmitting Collector data by leveraging unique device and hardware properties. However, these properties can evolve over time or become temporarily inaccessible. To tackle this, Nexthink employs a sophisticated algorithm that can either recognize a device as a previously encountered one, despite minor changes, or identify it as a new addition to the network. Incorrect identification could lead to data inconsistencies, such as duplicating a single device's record or merging records of two distinct devices.
