Configuration guide
To effectively use this library pack, the content must be installed and configured appropriately. Below are some suggested steps to install and configure the content properly before use.
Step 1) Install library pack content
Go to the Nexthink Library and install all required content.
Step 2) Configure remote actions
Navigate to the Managing Remote Actions administration page to review and edit your remote actions.
We recommend the following configurations for these remote actions:
Name | Trigger | Schedule query | Parameters to edit |
---|---|---|---|
Get Windows Registry key values | Scheduled, weekly |
|
Get Windows Registry key values
Name | Default value | Description |
---|---|---|
RegistryKey1 | Registry::\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\AVEntitlement | This registry key stores the value that indicates the edition of the Adobe Acrobat application installed on a device. This example illustrates the registry path for the Adobe Acrobat DC (edition) release subsequent to 2021. |
ValueName1 | iEntitlementLevel | This registry value indicates the edition of the Adobe Acrobat application installed on a device. |
The registry path for Adobe Acrobat may vary depending on the edition and version of the application installed on devices within an organization. For instance, the registry path for Adobe Acrobat Classic is as follows: Registry::\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\Classic\AVEntitlement
It is essential to ensure that the correct registry path for the Adobe Acrobat edition and version currently installed within your organization is specified. The necessary path can be determined by consulting the relevant version's documentation or by conducting a manual examination of the registry on a reference device.
Step 3) Configure the campaign
This library pack contains one Engage campaign, "Adobe software usage assessment." This campaign asks users if they are using advanced features of the Pro version or if they want to downgrade to Standard.
This campaign should be modified before use to ensure that it matches corporate communication guidelines. Navigate to the Managing Campaigns administration page to review and edit this campaign.
Please ensure to:
Customize the sender name and image.
Review and adjust questions.
Publish the campaign when you are ready to use it.
Step 4) Configure software metering rule
Please note that this library pack requires manual configuration of the software metering rule for the Adobe Acrobat application. This software metering rule is necessary to provide you with visibility of Adobe Acrobat desktop focus time over the extended period of the past 90 days.
Navigate to the manage software metering rules administration page to review and create this software metering rule with the following settings:
Setting | Value |
---|---|
Software metering name | Adobe Acrobat |
NQL ID | #adobe_acrobat |
License type | User based |
