The Message thinklet enables IT teams to communicate directly with employees through the Nexthink channel in Microsoft Teams. Configure the thinklet to communicate the following:
Notification: Sends a message without requiring an employee response.
Question: Sends a message that prompts the employee to provide an answer.
Install and configure the Nexthink Microsoft Teams application before configuring the Message thinklet. Refer to Communication channels documentation for more information.
The Message thinklet sends notifications or questions to employees through the Nexthink Microsoft Teams channel. Notifications deliver messages without requiring responses, while questions prompt employees for answers. Responses from question messages are used to make decisions defined by workflow conditions or as inputs to other thinklets.
Name: Enter a unique name for the Message thinklet.
ID: The system generates the ID automatically based on the name.
Description (optional): Describe the purpose of the thinklet and what it does. This information is useful for other users of the workflow who may not be familiar with it.
Message type: Select the type of message to send to an employee:
Notification: Delivers a message that does not require a response from the employee.
Question: Sends a message that requires an answer from the employee.
Configuration for Notification message type
Message: The text that will be sent to the employee.
Configuration for Question message type:
Timeout: Set the timeout in minutes or hours. This dictates how long the workflow waits for a response from the Question message type before timing out. When the timeout limit is reached, the workflow enters a failed state and stops processing.
Title: Optionally configure the title for the message that will be displayed in the MS Teams notification question box.
Text :Enter the question that will be sent to the employee.
Configure answer choices:
Choice text (at least 2 options): The text that will be displayed as an answer option in the communication.
Choice label: The key of the choice options—not visible to the employee.
