# Setting application licenses

Nexthink Applications allows you to track the **License usage ratio** for web applications, helping you to identify cost optimization opportunities and highlight compliance issues.

After [configuring the fields in the General tab](/platform/user-guide/applications/configuring-applications/configuring-web-applications.md#configuringwebapplications-understandingurlpatterns) of the web application settings, navigate to the **Licenses** tab to set up monitoring for application license usage:

* Define the **Number of licenses available** with the number of purchased application licenses.

{% hint style="info" %}
After setup, the related [application monitoring dashboard ](/platform/user-guide/applications/monitoring-applications.md)shows the **License usage ratio** widget.
{% endhint %}
