Multi-factor Authentification for local users

This Technical Preview is made available to customers free of charge for their evaluation and feedback; on general availability the functionalities of the preview may be subject to additional cost and/or licensing.  As such, the Technical Preview, the documentation, and any updates are provided for limited evaluation only and on an ‘as-is’ and ‘as-available’ basis without warranty of any kind.

Background

In response to evolving security challenges, Nexthink introduces an advanced authentication upgrade for local user accounts. Addressing the limitations of single-factor authentication, our Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) solution incorporates Time-based One-Time Passwords (TOTP) for heightened protection against unauthorized access.

By augmenting traditional passwords with TOTP, Nexthink strengthens defense against threats like password theft and phishing attacks. The MFA solution seamlessly integrates with leading authenticator applications such as Google Authenticator and Microsoft Authenticator, ensuring compatibility and ease of implementation.

In line with our commitment to security excellence, Nexthink mandates the adoption of MFA for all local accounts during our upcoming technical preview.

Customer benefits

With the introduction of MFA for local user accounts, Nexthink is proactively reducing the risk of unauthorized access and improving security, tightening the integrity of our platform.

Read the Logging into the web interface documentation to learn how to set up MFA for local user accounts.
