Experience Optimization is the first page you see after you log in to the Nexthink web interface.
Some functionality of Experience Optimization is linked with Finder (classic).
Nexthink Finder is a Windows-only desktop application whose functionality is now available within the Nexthink web interface. Nexthink can now be used directly from a browser and most functions no longer require an additional desktop application.
The top navigation bar displays the name of the current dashboard, the value of the DEX score and subscores. Click on one of the tabs to display the dedicated dashboard. The Employee sentiment tab redirects you to the corresponding Campaign page.
The gauge charts group the devices according to the value of their DEX score. Here are the default thresholds:
A score over 8 and up to 10 is categorized as good (green).
A score of 6 and up to 8 is categorized as average (yellow).
A score below 6 is categorized as frustrating (red).
The breakdown widget displays the values of the DEX score according to 4 different dimensions, accessible via the drop-down list:
Hierarchy - as defined by the customer
Operating system - name and version
Employees' working style - office-based or remotely connected
Virtualization type - Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Session-Based Computing (SBC) or Non-virtual
For each row, the following information is displayed:
The average value of the DEX score
Percentage distribution of devices
The absolute number of devices
Experience over time displays the evolution of the overall DEX score for the last 30 days. The accompanying bar chart displays, for each day, the number of devices grouped by good experience (green), average experience (yellow) and frustrating experience (red), as stacked columns.
The Details widget is displayed when one of the tabs for a specific score is selected.
When you hover the cursor on the name of a subscore, a popover widget displays the trend and the list of metrics used for that score. It is available for the Productivity applications and Business applications tabs.
Located on top of the right column of the Experience Optimization page, the scope widget displays the round number of devices currently selected. Clicking on the Show in Finder link to display the devices in Finder (classic).
Click on an element of the gauge or breakdown widget to apply filters to the page. This action defines the scope by filtering the targeted objects with a condition on a property. For instance, to limit the analysis to the scores categorized as Frustrating experience, click on the gauge with the red bar.
Applied filters appear at the top of the page in the filtering bar and can be removed one at a time or all at once by clicking on the Clear filters button.
The top navigation bar displays the value for the selected filters as well as the unfiltered value in a lighter color.
View issues you should focus on to increase the DEX score in the right column of the Experience Optimization page. The system lists the items by priority and applied filters.
Each item shows how much the DEX score would be improved if you addressed the issue.
Click on an issue to display a list of potential fixes that may be helpful in resolving it.
Click on possible fixes and follow the steps to remedies the situation.
A step can contain the following elements:
Links to launch investigations in the Finder (classic)
Links to edit a Remote action in the Finder (classic)
Links to edit a Campaign in the Finder (classic)
Links to external resources
You can rate the possible fixes with a rating system at the bottom of each step.
Baselining the DEX Score ensures that relevant priorities will be reported through the DEX score and Experience Optimization. The data is displayed and tailored for a specific customer environment.
Nexthink Professional Services and Nexthink Certified Partners can assist with the tailoring of the DEX score. In addition to the usual configurations of the DEX score, they can:
Modify the thresholds used to categorize the devices in the gauge widget.
Edit the placeholder names of the Business Applications and Productivity Applications.
Change the normalization thresholds of the leaf scores.
Add or remove some leaf scores.
Adjust the weighted averages.
Use cases of DEX score tailoring can be found on our Community website through DEX score expansion packs.
