# Adobe Acrobat licensing

## Overview <a href="#operatingsystems-stability-security-andcompliance-overview" id="operatingsystems-stability-security-andcompliance-overview"></a>

Identify cost-saving opportunities for Adobe Acrobat application users in your environment

## Problem <a href="#operatingsystems-stability-security-andcompliance-problem" id="operatingsystems-stability-security-andcompliance-problem"></a>

The Adobe Acrobat application is a powerful tool required for many different business processes. However, it comes at a cost that most organizations would like to reduce, especially if that cost does not add value. The key challenge to optimizing Adobe Acrobat licensing costs is understanding its presence and usage. Understanding the difference between two different editions - Pro and Standard - is another challenge, as raw inventory data would not show the difference between these editions.

## Solution <a href="#operatingsystems-stability-security-andcompliance-solution" id="operatingsystems-stability-security-andcompliance-solution"></a>

This library pack helps solve this problem by supporting the following scenarios: identifying Adobe Acrobat editions on devices, tracking devices that have Adobe Acrobat installed but are not in use, and tracking devices that have Adobe Acrobat Pro Edition installed.&#x20;

With this data, you can remove the unused instances of software. You can also create a targeted campaign that asks users if they want to take advantage of the advanced features of the Pro edition or if they would like to downgrade to the Standard edition.

## Key features <a href="#operatingsystems-stability-security-andcompliance-keyfeatures" id="operatingsystems-stability-security-andcompliance-keyfeatures"></a>

* Understand the presence and usage of Adobe Acrobat in your environment.
* Detect specific editions of Adobe Acrobat application.
* Conduct a targeted campaign to determine if users need the advanced features of the Pro Edition or if the Standard Edition is sufficient for their needs.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.nexthink.com/platform/~/changes/Sh4xqs4GDClkDKT9Hvux/library-packs/software-asset-management/adobe-acrobat-licensing.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
