# Getting started with Mobile Experience

Mobile Experience brings Nexthink’s digital experience monitoring to company-managed Android and iOS devices and bring your own (BYO) Android devices. It provides IT teams with real-time visibility into key health and performance indicators, such as battery status, stability, and connectivity, helping them identify and resolve issues before they affect employees. With Nexthink Mobile, Intune connector, and a monitoring dashboard, Mobile Experience delivers actionable insights that keep your workforce connected, productive, and supported wherever they work.

## Before you begin

Ensure the client mobile devices are managed in a Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) solution. Nexthink recommends using fully managed devices.

Monitoring mobile devices with Mobile Experience requires installing and configuring specific components in your Nexthink instance and on the mobile devices:

* **Nexthink Mobile**: An app installed directly on client mobile devices that collects relevant applications and device performance data. See the [Connecting mobile devices to Nexthink](/platform/configuring_nexthink/bringing-data-into-your-nexthink-instance/connecting-mobile-devices-to-nexthink.md) section for more information.
* **Intune connector for Mobile Devices**: An integration component that allows you to collect additional compliance data from all devices, as well as data from devices on which you cannot install Nexthink Mobile, such as certain bring-your-own (BYO) devices. See the [Intune: Mobile devices connector](/platform/configuring_nexthink/bringing-data-into-your-nexthink-instance/integrating-nexthink-with-third-party-tools/inbound-connectors/connector-for-intune-mobile-devices.md) documentation for more information.
* **Mobile device monitoring dashboard**: A dashboard available in [Nexthink Library](/platform/user-guide/nexthink-library.md) that allows you to track multiple aspects of mobile devices. It includes an overview and inventory of available devices, as well as metrics for battery and device health. See the [Using the Mobile device monitoring dashboard](/platform/user-guide/mobile-experience/using-the-monitoring-mobile-devices-dashboard.md) section for more information.

Refer to the Nexthink Mobile [hardware ](/platform/configuring_nexthink/before-you-begin/technical-requirements/hardware-requirements.md#nexthink-app)and [software](/platform/configuring_nexthink/before-you-begin/technical-requirements/software-requirements.md#nexthink-mobile-agent-app) technical requirements.

## Granting permissions for Mobile Experience <a href="#granting-permissions-for-vdi-experience" id="granting-permissions-for-vdi-experience"></a>

{% hint style="info" %}
Refer to the [Roles](/platform/user-guide/administration/account-management/roles.md) documentation for a detailed description of **Permissions**, **View domain** options and [Data privacy](/platform/user-guide/administration/account-management/roles.md#roles-dataprivacy) granularity settings.
{% endhint %}

To enable proper permissions for the Mobile device monitoring dashboard as an administrator:

1. Select **Administration >** [Roles](/platform/user-guide/administration/account-management/roles.md) from the main navigation panel.
2. Create a **New Role** or edit an existing role by hovering over it.
3. In the **Permissions** section, scroll down to the **Live Dashboards** section to enable appropriate permissions for the role.

{% hint style="warning" %}
These permissions allow users with this role to manage all Live Dashboards, not just the Mobile Device Monitoring dashboard.
{% endhint %}

### View domain impact on Live Dashboards permissions <a href="#amplify-dataprivacysettingsforamplify" id="amplify-dataprivacysettingsforamplify"></a>

The table below shows what users with full and limited [View domain](/platform/user-guide/administration/account-management/roles.md#roles-viewdomain) access can do, assuming the necessary permissions are enabled.

| Permission            | Full access                                                         | Limited access                                                      |
