Add content to Nexthink Library from providers other than the official Nexthink Library team. Manage the installation, and update custom packs easily from a central place. Refer to the Nexthink Library documentation for more information.
Importing custom library packs
Once you receive a reference code, navigate to Nexthink Library and select Import custom library pack in the top-right corner of the page.

Paste the pack reference into the pop-up and then Import it. When content is imported, the system appends its tags to the existing tags in the environment.

The imported pack appears in the list of Packs. Filter custom packs by selecting the corresponding filter option from the drop-down menu.

Custom pack details page

The library pack details page includes information regarding the Description, Version and Contents.
Description: Description of the library pack.
Version: Information about the latest version of the pack and its version history. When a new version is available, install it by clicking the Update button.
Contents: Content items that comprise the pack. Items are organized by different content types, such as dashboards, checklists or custom fields.
Install or Installed: Click the Install button to add the pack to the product. The button is labeled Installed if the library pack is already installed on your system.
Delete: Remove the pack from the library.
Custom content details page
While it is possible to access individual content items, Nexthink recommends installing and updating custom packs as an entity in order to ensure that there are no missing dependencies.
Permissions
To enable proper permissions to import custom packs into the Library:
Select Administration from the main menu.
Click Profiles from the navigation panel.
Click on the New Profile button in the top-right corner of the page to create a new profile, or edit an existing profile by hovering over it and clicking on the edit icon to change the profile configuration.
In the Permissions section:
Scroll down to Nexthink Library and enable View all Nexthink Library content in order to have access to the Library page.
Scroll down to Library and packs and enable Import custom packs to import custom packs from the Library.
Limitations
The Copy from Library functionality is not available for custom library content.
Further development planned for a later release.
Generic errors are thrown for all installation failures, such as:
Unicity constraint violations: Content with the same NQL ID already exists on the environment.
Missing dependencies: Pack containing a rating but not the custom field it references.
More detailed error messages are planned for later releases.
