# What's new 2026.8

This page lists key features and improvements released in version 2026.8 of the **Nexthink Infinity Standard edition** - September 22, 2026

Feature availability may differ between Nexthink Infinity and Nexthink Infinity for Government. For a complete overview, please refer to the [Infinity for Government Feature Exclusion List](/platform/security/infinity-for-government.md) and detailed release notes on the [Extended Documentation](https://edocs.nexthink.com/nexthink-infinity/infinity-release-notes) website.

## Applications: New AHEAD dashboards for Business Application Owners

Onboard business-side app owners to an enhanced Application Experience. The new AHEAD dashboards go beyond technical performance and availability metrics to provide a comprehensive view of the metrics that define a solution's business success.

Manage each web application’s adoption (A), health (H), efficiency (E), affordability (A), and user delight (D) through a single, easy-to-understand interface specifically designed for an audience that is not yet fully familiar with Nexthink. Assist✦ accompanies you and your business partners every step of the way, helping you explore and understand existing data and recommending actionable next steps.

This feature requires configuration or setting user permissions before use. Please see the [AHEAD](/platform/user-guide/applications/monitoring-applications/monitoring-web-applications/ahead.md) documentation for more information.

## AI Tools: AI adoption goals

Set formal, organization-wide AI adoption goals and track progress against them directly in AI Tools powered by AI Drive, on complete usage data. Instead of manually stitching numbers together from several incomplete tools, adoption owners define what "good" looks like, watch it move over time, and pinpoint exactly where to act.

* **Define measurable goals**: Set a goal with a metric, a target, and a scope over fixed calendar periods, so progress is unambiguous and comparable across the organization.
* **Track progress over time**: Follow each goal against its target as adoption evolves, backed by complete AI usage data rather than partial exports.
* **Break down by org dimension**: Split any goal by dimensions such as department, region, or role to expose the sub-populations that are lagging and focus your efforts there.
* **Keep metrics consistent**: Metrics stay editable after creation, and historical data is recalculated as your org structure and context change, so the numbers stay reliable over time.

This feature requires configuration or setting user permissions before use. Please see the [AI adoption goals](/platform/user-guide/ai-tools/working-with-ai-tools/ai-adoption-goals.md) documentation for more information.

Depending on your current licensing model, this capability may require an additional license. Contact your Nexthink representative for more information.

## Nexthink Spark✦: Smarter self-service, broader reach, and more admin control

Spark gets smarter at resolving issues on its own, reaches employees through more channels, and gives admins finer control over configuration.

* **Configurable web search domains:** Control which websites Spark can search from a dedicated view in Manage Spark, where you can enable or disable domains, and add or remove your own. Start from Nexthink's 142-domain baseline and combine default and custom domains up to 300 total. Please see the [Managing Spark settings and data inputs](/platform/user-guide/spark/setting-up-and-managing-spark/managing-spark-settings.md#managing-spark-trusted-websites) documentation for more information.
* **Limited support mode:** When Spark can't identify or validate a device, it now offers general troubleshooting guidance and knowledge base content instead of ending the conversation. Please see the [Understanding employee experience with Spark](/platform/user-guide/spark/understanding-employee-experience-with-spark.md#how-spark-works) documentation for more information.
* **Live progress updates:** Spark now shows a short, updating message as it works through your request, then clears it once the task is done so you can focus on the final answer.

<figure><img src="https://268444917-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FxJSUDk9NTtCHYPG5EWs3%2Fuploads%2FLzzJkQqKuvLar4LvXQqJ%2FSpark.png?alt=media&amp;token=72a5f9f6-41a8-480a-b5bd-386a642f1081" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* **Storage troubleshooting:** More storage issues now get resolved directly in the conversation, because Spark bases its recommendation on what is actually filling up that specific device. With the **File and folder names** setting enabled in the **Settings** tab under **Manage Spark**, Spark can identify the largest files and folders, clear content taking up space, and suggest moving specific large files to OneDrive. Please see the [Managing Spark settings and data inputs](/platform/user-guide/spark/setting-up-and-managing-spark/managing-spark-settings.md#enabling-storage-troubleshooting-for-spark) documentation for more information.

{% hint style="info" %}
This functionality will be enabled automatically on October 19th following the completion of the 2026.8 rollout in all regions. Nexthink administrators can turn it off at any time in the **Settings** tab under **Manage Spark.**
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="https://268444917-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FxJSUDk9NTtCHYPG5EWs3%2Fuploads%2FT4X8H9f2ckUK6p5lSEKH%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=387b17ee-f16e-4721-9db2-917fb91373c5" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* **Manual service catalog uploads:** Upload your service catalog items directly to Spark so it can resolve common requests on its own, freeing IT team to focus on more complex issues. This feature requires configuration or setting user permissions before use. Please see the [Managing Request catalogs](/platform/user-guide/administration/ai-resources/managing-request-catalogs.md) documentation for more information.

<figure><img src="https://268444917-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FxJSUDk9NTtCHYPG5EWs3%2Fuploads%2FLPQz3smhEhDveH4REuMv%2Frequest-catalogs.png?alt=media&amp;token=ccfac69e-73f2-4fdb-a981-7e273d3c379d" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* **Audience targeting for knowledge base connectors:** Define audience rules per knowledge base connector using an NQL query, so employees only see knowledge base results relevant to their country, department, or role. This feature requires configuration or setting user permissions before use. Please see the [ServiceNow Knowledge Base connector](/platform/configuring_nexthink/bringing-data-into-your-nexthink-instance/integrating-nexthink-with-third-party-tools/inbound-connectors/connector-for-servicenow-knowledge-base.md#filtering-knowledge-base-articles-by-audience) documentation for more information.

* **Employee channels naming update:** The Communication Channels screen is now named Employee Channels, with clearer labels throughout. This feature requires configuration or setting user permissions before use. Please see the [Employee channels](/platform/configuring_nexthink/bringing-data-into-your-nexthink-instance/integrating-nexthink-with-third-party-tools/employee-channels.md) documentation for more information.

Depending on your current licensing model, this capability may require an additional license. Contact your Nexthink representative for more information.

## Workspace✦: The new default Infinity landing page, quick links from across Infinity & Device troubleshooting optimization

Workspace is now the first thing you see when you log in to Infinity, and you can jump into it from wherever you're already working. It also now delivers better results when troubleshooting individual device issues.

* **New default landing page:** Workspace now replaces Experience Central as the default homepage, so you can work with it immediately. Please see the [Roles](/platform/user-guide/administration/account-management/roles.md) documentation for more information.

{% hint style="info" %}
This functionality will be made available following the completion of the 2026.8 rollout in all regions.
{% endhint %}

* **One click from Search and action menus:** Take a device, a user, an issue, etc. you've found anywhere in Infinity straight into Workspace to investigate it with AI. No need to re-run the search or rebuild the context. Please see the [Using Workspace](/platform/user-guide/search-and-workspace/using-workspace.md) documentation for more information.
* **Device troubleshooter expert (Beta):** A dedicated expert for single-device diagnosis is available in Workspace. It handles software, hardware, performance, network, connectivity, peripheral, and application issues on a managed device. ## Collector: macOS UPN reporting for Microsoft Intune deployments

Collect the user principal name (UPN) on macOS devices managed through Microsoft Intune with platform SSO. You can now report the macOS UPN also for devices that have neither Active Directory binding nor Jamf Connect. The Collector reads the UPN from the local record that platform SSO already maintains on the device, with no new Collector configuration required. UPN remains configurable and Nexthink does not override anything that is already set up.

Available in Collector versions 26.8 and above. Please see the [Reporting the UPN on macOS](/platform/configuring_nexthink/bringing-data-into-your-nexthink-instance/deploying-nexthink-in-non-vdi-environment/installing-collector/macos-collector-references/reporting-the-upn-on-macos.md) documentation for more information.

## Digital Experience: Organization filters

Filter the Digital Experience dashboard powered by your organization's structure. Organization filters now appear at the top of the Digital Experience dashboard, letting you narrow DEX insights to any level of your HR hierarchy — division, department, office. Use them to show business stakeholders how technology is affecting a specific team. This feature requires configuration or setting user permissions before use. Please see the [Getting started with Digital Experience](/platform/user-guide/digital-experience/getting-started-with-digital-experience.md) documentation for more information.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.nexthink.com/platform/whats-new/whats-new-2026.8.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
