Citrix DaaS connector

The Connector for Citrix DaaS allows you to import device organizational information about virtual desktops, such as host pool or type of desktop virtualization.

The feature is scheduled to run automatically and communicate with the Citrix Cloud API according to the configuration of the API Client.

Prerequisites

  1. Log in to Citrix Cloudarrow-up-right as admin.

  2. Navigate to the API Access tab of the Identity and Access Management menu.

  3. Create an API client; refer to the Get started with Citrix Cloud APIsarrow-up-right documentation.

Additional consideration

In the ICA policy settings, ensure the Virtual channel allow list is set to Disabled. For more information, see the Citrix documentationarrow-up-right.

Device fields

The connector for Citrix DaaS imports the following device virtualization fields.

Nexthink Field
Description

Virtualization desktop pool name

Hardware characteristics of the associated VMs.

Virtualization desktop pool type

Type of the desktop pool. Possible values are:

  • shared

  • personal

  • pooled

Virtualization hostname

The physical device hosting the virtual machine. It may be empty for those machines hosted in a cloud vendor, such as Azure.

Virtualization hypervisor name

Hardware virtualization system which is being used.

Environment name

Name of the connector instance which enriches the virtual device.

Desktop broker

Name of the desktop virtualization broker product being used. In this case, citrix_daas.

Disk image

Name of the disk image used to deploy the VM.

Configuring the Nexthink web interface

  1. Go to Administration > Inbound connectors.

  2. Click the New connector button in the top-right corner of the page.

  3. Select Citrix DaaS from the list of connectors on the Integrations page.

Test results panel

Use the Test results panel on the right side to run the connector with real data on demand, and inspect responses and errors. The test panel helps with faster debugging and validation during setup, and also with more reliable mappings with less trial and error.

Select the Run test button to call the API, and validate the credentials and check connectivity to the targeted endpoint.

Besides basic information, such as the response status code and time, the panel also shows a sample record of the response at the bottom.

In the event of an error, the system displays the API response to aid in diagnosing the issue.
