# Citrix virtual channel allowlist configuration

The Citrix platform requires specific DLLs and executables to be allowlisted to enable proper communication. The required virtual channel allowlist configuration depends on the version of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops in use.

The following sections detail which components must be explicitly allowed for each supported version.

## Versions lower than 2507

* **Policy name**: Virtual channel allow list
* **Status**: Disabled

{% hint style="info" %}
The policy must be created and assigned, but its value set to "Disabled". When the policy is not active, the DVC won’t work.
{% endhint %}

For detailed configuration information, see the [Citrix documentation](https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-virtual-apps-desktops/2402-ltsr/hdx-transport/virtual-channel-allow-list).

## Versions equal to or higher than 2507

* **Policy name**: Virtual channel allow list for DVC
* **Status**: Enabled
* **Value**: `C:\Program Files\Nexthink\Collector\Collector\nxtsvc.exe,NxtDvcPlugin,NxtClientMetrics`

For detailed configuration information, see the [Citrix documentation](https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-virtual-apps-desktops/2507-ltsr/hdx-transport/virtual-channel-allow-list/virtual-channel-allow-list-for-dvc).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.nexthink.com/platform/configuring_nexthink/bringing-data-into-your-nexthink-instance/deploying-nexthink-in-non-vdi-environment/installing-collector/windows-collector-references/citrix-virtual-channel-allowlist-configuration.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
