# Engage notifications on macOS (classic)

On macOS, the applications that want to inform users about a particular issue send a notification to the standard notification system. In turn, the notification system displays a popup on the screen of the device that transmits the appropriate message to the employee.

From version 6.28.1.198, the Collector does not rely on standard notifications anymore. So the system will not prompt the user to choose between allowing or disallowing the delivery of notifications and the campaign will start.

During the campaign creation using the Finder, the system informs the users about the behavior described above when the **Skip notification** box is not ticked.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.nexthink.com/platform/configuring_nexthink/bringing-data-into-your-nexthink-instance/deploying-nexthink-in-non-vdi-environment/installing-collector/macos-collector-references/engage-notifications-on-macos-classic.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
