{% hint style="warning" %}
The configuration options on this page are only accessible to [administrators](/user-guide/administration/account-management/roles.md#roles-administration).

Some of these products offer default access to their respective content and can still be used without [expansion products](https://docs.nexthink.com/platform/overview/products).

To learn more about default thresholds for expansion products, [visit the extended documentation](https://edocs.nexthink.com/nexthink-infinity/infinity-specifications/nexthink-infinity-default-thresholds-overview).

{% hint style="info" %}
Adapt these suggested configuration steps to edit and customize content according to your organizational needs.
{% endhint %}

Follow these steps to install and configure content:

* Before configuration - Install library pack content from [Nexthink Library](https://docs.nexthink.com/platform/user-guide/nexthink-library)
* [Step 1 - Configuring user roles](#step-1-configuring-user-roles)
* [Step 2 - Adjusting time period](#step-2-adjusting-time-period)

### Step 1 - Configuring user roles

1. From the main menu, navigate to **Administration** > **Roles**.
2. Locate the role **Nexthink Usage**.
3. Assign the role to relevant users or groups.
4. Ensure users can access:
   * Investigations
   * Live dashboards

This role enables querying usage data through NQL.

### Step 2 - Adjusting time period

1. Open the **Platform usage telemetry** dashboard.
2. Locate the time selector in the top-right corner.
3. Choose a time range that fits your analysis needs:
   * Last 7 days for recent activity

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.nexthink.com/library-packs/nexthink-management/platform-usage-telemetry/configuration-guide-platform-usage-telemetry.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
