# Nexthink Collector configuration profiles

The **Nexthink Collector configuraiton profiles** library pack supports the migration process to Device configuration profiles, a centralized approach to managing device-specific Collector configuration from the Nexthink platform.

Before installing this library pack, please read the [Migrating to the Device configuration profiles ](https://edocs.nexthink.com/nexthink-infinity/infinity-specifications/migrating-to-device-configuration-profiles)documentation to better understand this new capability and its functionality.

Adapt these suggested configuration steps to edit and customize content according to your organizational needs.
{% endhint %}

Before configuration - Install library pack content from [Nexthink Library](https://docs.nexthink.com/platform/latest/library). Once you install the pack, you should configure the included remote actions.

**Configure remote action(s)**

1. From the main menu, navigate to the **Remote Actions** > [Manage remote action ](https://docs.nexthink.com/platform/latest/manage-remote-actions)page.
2. Review and edit your remote actions.

Nexthink recommends the following configurations for these remote actions:

| Name | Trigger schedule | Parameters to edit |
| ------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------ |
| **Get Collector configuration** (Windows & macOS) | Scheduled, every day. Create separate schedules across different regions to trigger at effective working hours. | None |

**Remote action setting considerations**

This remote action runs on both Windows and macOS devices. Nexthink recommends enabling the **Devices** and **VDI sessions** targeting options if your environment includes VDI infrastructure.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.nexthink.com/library-packs/nexthink-management/nexthink-audit-log-monitoring/collector-configuration-profiles.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
